Description: A late, dessert apple with yellow, conical fruit with red stripes, an orange-red flush and scattered russetting. The cream flesh has a fairly dry texture, and an aromatic, nutty flavour. Spreading, part tip-bearing trees produce a good crop in mid-autumn, the fruit storing to early spring. Requires a group 2, 3 or 4 pollinator
Care: Improving the soil in advance of planting your apple trees will help them establish quickly and be productive for years to come. After removing all the weeds and grass from the area surrounding hole, you can dig the soil over. Remove any stones and rubbish and mix in well rotted compost or manure down to the depth of about 2 spades. You can do this on planting day, but when you do it weeks or months in advance, you will give the soil time to settle again.
