Description: Bergenia cordifolia is a clump-forming evergreen perennial noted for its incredible hardiness and vigour. Borne on thick red stems in early spring, erect clusters of deep-pink flowers rise above a rosette of leathery, shiny, heart-shaped leaves. Deep green in summer, the large leaves turn purplish-bronze in winter, providing year round interest.

Care: Easily grown in humus-rich, moist, well-drained soils in sun or partial shade. Tolerates a wide range of soil conditions but dislikes hot, dry conditions. Remove faded flower spikes.
