Care: Plant in moisture-retentive, well-drained soil, with the roots and base of the plant kept cool and shaded by other plants or a layer of pebbles. Plant with the crown 5-8cm deep to encourage new shoots to grow from below ground level. Tolerates some shade, but colours best in full sun. Propagate by double leaf-bud, semi-ripe cuttings taken from spring to late summer, or by layering from late winter to spring. Prune after flowering to keep a manageable height.
